The Band was founded in october 2006. While John Abius produced the album "Paradise Road".

Numerous songs are about the exhilarating landscapes of South Africa and touching events that were reflected in the lyrics and music of this album.

Many people listen to the new songs and said: "This must be on stage". For John Abius was it the main reason to start the band SOUTH-WEST-WIND.

Within the last decade John Abius produced many songs and the band made two following albums called "Masquerade" and "Silent Ocean"(instrumental album). Now aditional you find the albums "Cross Culture Club", "The Best Of The Rest" on demand. 2020.

2020 the band released the album ReInCarNation". This album is a follow-up to the album "Masquerade" and again strongly guitar oriented.

Currently the band is working on it's stage program,

urincluding new songs from the album "Don't Turn Back".

This new studio album is called: "Don't Turn Back", It is out since November 2022.

Die Band SOUTH-WEST-WIND wurde 2006 von John Abius gegründet. Er produzierte mit verschiedenen Mitmusikerinnen und Musikern in den Jahren 2003 - 2006 das Album "Paradise Road". Zahlreiche Songs handeln von den berauschenden Landschaften Südafrikas und von berührenden Ereignissen die sich in Texten und der  Musik dieses Albums niederschlugen. Viele Hörer des Studioalbums meinten, diese Songs müssen auf die Bühne. So ergab es sich nahezu zwangsläufig, eine Band zu gründen.

Inzwischen wurden insgesamt 7 Studioalben veröffentlicht, Songs stehen in einschlägigen Internetseiten zum Download oder als Stream zur Verfügung. Neu ist im Eigenvertrieb das Album  "Cross Culture Club",  "The Best Of The Rest". 2020 wurde das Album "ReInCarNation" veröffentlicht, ein Folgealbum des 2010 veröffentlichten Albums "Masquerade". 

Derzeit arbeitet seit Novembder 2022 die neu besetzte Band SOUTH-WEST-WIND am Live-Programm, u..a. auch mit Titeln des aktuellen Albums. "Don't Turn Back".
